Cheryl King has had a lifelong love affair with art and beasts. Being able to blend these two loves into a career as a fine artist is what she considers a dream livelihood. She grew up in the wilds of the Pacific NW under the tutelage of a Father who was a modern day Mountain Man, leading the family on adventures and teaching them a reverence for nature.
She honed her skills through personal training, workshops and plenty of brush mileage and has been a collectible animal artist for over 2 decades. Fun loving, bold, honest and energetic, Cheryl brings these qualities to her compositions. Her constant goal is to honor the animal she is painting in the manner it deserves; to elevate it’s position beyond a mere critter into a spectacular creation of Mother Nature.
In recent years she has added a new element to her art, painting on aluminum and creating fused glass backdrops to frame the painting in a layered effect. These small works have enjoyed great success for their unique presentation and exciting brushwork. She paints exclusively in oils whether it is on canvas, linen or metal.
